Serpentine Gallery Pavilion
Image of the Pavilion from within, showing the entrance and 'ceiling'. The bright white of the structure is striking against the light in the sky.
Image of Pavilion from within showing an exit and the ceiling. The bright blue sky and vivid green from the trees contrasts beautifully with the geometric white structure.
Image from above the Pavilion looking upon the tables. The contrast in form from the rounded tables and geometric lines of the pavilion is interesting. By painting the chairs table and structure white makes me feel peaceful and almost in a dream state.
Pavilion photographed from within, sillouetted strikingly against the sky. This is perhaps my favourite photograph, the powerful sun shining through exposes the plastic transparent disk structures at the top of the sculpture. The contrast between the geometric structure and the soft circular disks, much like the tables, is interesting. It appears almost mechanical from this angle.
A final photograph of the structure showing off its 3 Dimension. The people sitting upon it show how interactive and personal the structure is.
A simple sketch of the structure with people inside. This sketch shows the interactive nature of the structure. I made sure the lines got narrower the further away they were to show depth and dimension to the piece.
Using Biro and a ruler I wanted to draw the same image yet really capture the geometry of the structure and the intensity of the lines I could see from where I sat. I think this simple sketch captures this effectively as the lines are very dense.
This sketch is of the corners of the structures. However it is very simplistic, undetailed and not very clear. The lines are not straight, the density of the Pavilion is not depicted.
